Continue drawing shapes with colors

 

Started putting colors but mainly for three values relatively dark, mid, and light. Overall tone is still darker, which is ok at this stage.  And, defining rock shapes further, so basically I'm still drawing with those colors. 

To put some mental notes, putting some variations of colors with red, green, etc. But will override them soon.

Point Kean drawing continues

 Continued to draw, but I'm almost satisfied for now. So I'll starting putting some colors on key shapes.

Point Kean, NZ, painting

 

Started a new painting for Point Kean at Kaikoura, NZ where I visited last summer. It's about wide open table rock in the foreground backed by the snow covered mountain range under crisp blue sky.

Since it's more about shapes than colors, I'm spending more time for drawing to get big shapes right. 

Trying to finish "Ukee Ocean"

 

Need to adjust some more ocean colors in the front ground then the rock on the left bottom corner. But otherwise almost has come to the final stage finally.

I've learned I had to mix some burnt umber to make ocean colors dull or unsaturated in some degree. That was the main problem in earlier stages. I'll make some sharp edges for the white crest.

Started tackling with ocean colors

 

Just can't avoid tackling ocean colors to make progress on this painting. It should be much more greener than blue. Not all crests are struck by the setting sun. More muted tonerly. But I don't want to go to the tonerist way.

Still uncetain about the ocean

 

Still adjusting rock shapes while adding more darker ocean shapes in. Not much worrying about colors at this moment.
