Since the composition is relatively simple, I've already started facing color making decisions on each part of rocks, which would decide the overall of this painting, make or break.

Roughly Defining Bigger Shapes
This time, I'm trying to put thicker borders on bigger shapes. They might end up staying visible or painted over the lighter colors. We'll see. But definitely much easier to capture the shapes.

Re-starting Chetco Point painting
I rushed to finish the last one, Dunes at Sunset, which was somewhat disappointing outcome. So I keep telling me to have strong outlines with this painting. I redrew the outlines but with thicker blush, #6?, so that I don't have to keep changing them. This is all about rocks and almost no vegetation. Lines and edges are very sharp most part.

Central OR Coast Visit
Went to a short late summer vacation at Central Oregon Coast. Tried painting one late morning at Neptune State Scenic Viewpoint just south from Cape Perpetua, just north from I painted 3 years ago. About an hour has passed, my easel collapsed due to strong wind. I avoided it from fell down by quickly holding it (otherwise no picture of painting were available). I set it up again and tried continuing painting while kept holding the easel by left hand. But almost got collapsed again. So I gave up at that point.

Revisit Chuckanut Bay
I came back to Chuckanut Bay to paint on-site. It was almost 20 years go I drew there with charcoal on newsprint paper. At that time I didn't even know how to handle oil paint at all.
It was windy and clouds didn't clear out even at the end. So sun light didn't do the magic to reveal interesting clolors of the bay.

Still working on the same painting
Still haven't given up this painting yet. Although every time I touch it, the colors are not consistent and slightly different.
Keep working on refining the front ground vegetation. Still long way to go.

Struggling with colors on vegetation
Still struggling with the colors on vegetation on dunes. Most of them are actually all greens but a little orangish due to sunset light. But some parts are actually orange color by themselves. Since orange and green are complementary colors, it's difficult to mix the final colors. Some kind of illusions are probably necessary, which I don't know how.
Instead I was working on adjusting shapes of vegetation based on values. I think I have to leave them for now and will work on refining three shapes to be more interesting next.

Last update for Seagul
Started working on the detail shapes of the rocks. I'm almost satisfied with the bird by now. I might go back in later to add more contrast. The colors on the water are the most difficult part now, which I need to spend some more time in the foreground.
